“Let’s Talk”
A two part series about
Communication between Parents and
their Older Children
[To Be Scheduled]
A communication series that will help create a new and exciting dialogue between parents and their older children. We will be talking about subjects that are “too hot” to talk about and how to handle those “taboo” subjects. In most conversations there are ‘hidden messages.’ We will help you reveal those messages. We will become aware of how words, phrases and messages can affect relationships between child and parent. We will see how communication can strengthen relationships.
Location: The Village at Northridge
(9222 Corbin Ave. Northridge – parking in the rear of the building)
Time: 7-8 pm
Cost: $16 for the series for Center members and *Affiliates;
$22 for Non-members

The book is for any adult who plays an important role in a child’s life. It is evidence-based research translated into practical learning activities to empower kids to thrive and to succeed. Resilient Children meet everyday life challenges competently and confidently. They possess the social emotional skills of resiliency, a “tool box” of personal strengths to “bounce back” in the face of difficulty and challenge.
The foundational skills it teaches are: awareness of one’s self and others; expressing emotions; solving interpersonal problems peacefully; initiating friendships; communicating; and resisting bullies. Resilient Children champions youngsters to shine throughout their childhood--and beyond!
